Jeffrey I. Friedman, Chairman, President and CEO, has been involved in the real estate business since 1969. He joined the organization in 1974. Mr. Friedman has served as Chairman and CEO of the Company since 1993. He is involved in both national and local civic and charitable organizations, including the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. He is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland and is also active in several professional organizations, including the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, Chief Executives Organization, Urban Land Institute, and the National Multi-Housing Council.

John T. Shannon, Senior Vice President of Operations, joined Associated Estates in April 2004. Previously, he was employed by The Shelter Group, Baltimore, MD. He has 15 years of property management experience. He has a BA in Business Administration with concentration in real estate finance and construction management from the University of Denver.

Greg Anderson
Regional Vice President of Development

Greg Anderson, Regional Vice President of Development, joined Associated Estates in October 2011. Mr. Anderson is responsible for identifying multifamily development opportunities, and it is anticipated that he will manage pre-development processes and provide oversight of construction activities in Southern California. He has over thirty years of experience in land development and management. He previously worked at The Picerne Group, Crown Pacific Properties, JPI, Forest City Enterprises, and was the head of Urban West Advisors, LLC. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Michelle B. Creger

Michelle B. Creger, Vice President, Associate General Counsel, joined Associated Estates in February 2009. Ms. Creger has more than 26 years of legal experience. Most recently, she served as the VP of Human Resources in the REIT industry for U-Store-It Trust. In addition, she worked in the legal department at American Greetings Corporation and in private practice at McDonald Hopkins. Ms. Creger earned her JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her BA in Economics from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Ms. Creger is an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel Northeast Ohio Chapter, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, North East Ohio In-House Employment Lawyers Association, and Society for Human Resources Management.

Patrick Duffy
Vice President of Strategic Marketing

Patrick Duffy, Vice President of Strategic Marketing, joined the Company in 2005. He plays a key role in the Company's diversification plan by assisting in identifying markets for asset acquisitions and dispositions. In addition, he is responsible for developing property-specific marketing plans and strategies to assist in maximizing top line revenue growth for the Company's market-rate properties, while also assisting with pricing and positioning strategies. Mr. Duffy was previously employed by The Shelter Group, Baltimore, MD, where he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing since 1995. He graduated from Loyola College and holds a Master's Degree in Administrative Sciences from Johns Hopkins University.

Lou Fatica
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer

Lou Fatica, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Treasurer, joined the Company in 1999 as Controller. Mr. Fatica has over ten years of experience and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPA's. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Hillcrest Family YMCA.

Jason A. Friedman

Jason A. Friedman, Vice President, Construction and Development, joined Associated Estates in September 2009. Mr. Friedman has over ten years of real estate experience and has been involved in all facets of the business including construction, development, acquisitions, dispositions and financing. Prior to joining the Company, he was the President of JAS Construction, a general contractor specializing in multifamily renovations. During his tenure at JAS, he was involved in approximately $100 million of multifamily renovation projects in various states. Mr. Friedman's previous experience is with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, wherein he provided valuation and advisory services to real estate clients. He graduated from Auburn University with a major in Communications and Business. Mr. Friedman is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Daniel E. Gold
Vice President of Human Resources

Daniel E. Gold, Vice President of Human Resources, joined Associated Estates in January 2009 and is responsible for the oversight of all Human Resources functions, including employee development, compensation, benefits, recruiting and payroll. He has more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources. Mr. Gold was previously employed as the Director of Corporate Human Resources by Falcon Transport, and has also worked for Rockwell Automation, Cap Gemini and Bailey Controls. He is an active member of both the Northeast Ohio Human Resource Planning Society and the Society for Human Resource Management. Mr. Gold graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Communications and a minor in Business Administration.

Jeremy S. Goldberg, Vice President of Corporate Finance and Investor Relations, joined Associated Estates in February, 2010. Mr. Goldberg's responsibilities include developing and implementing financial and capital markets strategies, facilitating the underwriting and analysis for acquisitions and dispositions, and establishing and maintaining investor and sell-side analyst relationships. He has 15 years of commercial and retail banking experience. Previously, he was employed at Bank of America and AmTrust Bank. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan and his Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

John P. Hinkle, Vice President of Acquisitions, joined Associated Estates in 2010. Mr. Hinkle has responsibility for identifying and generating acquisition opportunities that are consistent with the Company's long-term investment and growth strategy. He has over 13 years of experience in the acquisition, development, management and valuation of investment properties. Previously, he served as a consultant for Federal Capital Partners. His previous acquisitions experience also includes Fairfield Residential, Van Metre Companies and Archstone-Smith Trust. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Lehigh University and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Allen Ingram
Chief Technology Officer

Allen Ingram, Chief Technology Officer, joined Associated Estates in January 2012. Mr. Ingram is responsible for managing the central IT services, including voice and data telecommunications, application development, and technical computing functions. He has 25 years of Information Technology experience. Mr. Ingram's prior IT experience includes the Home Shopping Network and PricewaterhouseCoopers and most recently served as Director of Technology at Max-Wellness. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Florida Metropolitan University.

Miria C. Rabideau, Regional Vice President, joined Associated Estates in 1994 as a Property Manager and was promoted to Regional Manager in 2003. She is based in Michigan and will oversee a regional portfolio that includes Michigan and Northwest Ohio. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and was honored by the Property Management Association of Michigan in 2004 and 2005 as the "Regional Manager of the Year."

Beth L. Stoll, Vice President of Operations, joined the Company in 2004. She is responsible for the Company's Mid-Atlantic and Southeast portfolios, as well as select Midwest properties. In addition to the oversight of these regions, she is also responsible for the activities of the Associated Estates Academy for Career Development. Prior to joining Associated Estates, she was a Regional Vice President with The Shelter Group, Baltimore, MD. Preceding her time with Shelter, Ms. Stoll worked for AMLI Residential, Focus Group, Julian LeCraw & Co., and Trammell Crow in a multi-site supervisory capacity. Ms. Stoll attended Boston State College where she received her B.S. degree.

Bradley A. Van Auken, Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, joined Associated Estates in November 2010. Brad has over 20 years experience in transactional law specializing in the real estate and securities field, where he worked for such companies as Lexford Residential Trust, Equity Residential and Benesch, Friedlander. He received both his Bachelor's Degree and Law Degree from Notre Dame.

Martin A. Fishman, Senior Advisor, joined the Company in 1986 as Vice President, General Counsel. He is a member of the American, Ohio, and Cleveland Bar Associations. He has lectured on real estate issues before bar associations on a number of occasions.
